Nashville is being pounded by snow and ice, but Zack and I grabbed a six-pack and set up shop in his apartment to record this week’s episode. As they say, the show must go on! We both love lifting big weights and eating our vegetables (pizza is a vegetable, right?), but we have other interests, too: I own a couple Toyotas and Zack likes to shred on guitar, and we talk a little about our hobbies outside of fitness. Next, we get into the weeds of program design, namely how we approach choosing exercises we think are relevant to our clients, their goals, and their needs. We might be a couple meatheads, but not everyone needs to lift super heavy; not everyone needs to barbell deadlift or squat; not everyone needs a chest day or back day or leg day. There are many ways to skin a cat, and we apply our respective filters on how we design programs. Lastly, we each take a turn dissecting an actual program we’re implementing with a current client: who they are, what they need, what they like, and how we adjust the program relative to their goals and lifestyle. Enjoy!
